Christmas Markets Launch City’s First-Ever Range of Festive Winter Woolies

Visitors to Manchester’s world-beating Christmas Markets are in for a treat this year as the markets launch their first-ever range of festive Winter woollies designed to keep market visitors cosy and warm whatever the weather as they meet up with friends to grab a Glühwein or to do their Christmas shopping.

And fans of Manchester’s very own giant Santa are going to love the fun range of woolly jumpers, hats and scarves which place Santa front and centre in a colourful retro design, surrounded by fir trees and Christmas presents tied up with ribbon, with the Town Hall clock tower behind him as the snow falls down on Manchester at night.

With a starring role for Santa on both sleeves of the Christmas jumper as well as the front, along with snowflakes, fir trees, and the words ‘Manchester Christmas Markets’ on the back, the eye-catching sweaters are designed to look good from any angle.

Festive shoppers in need of an extra warm might want to add a woolly hat with its bright red pom-pom and also featuring Manchester’s giant Santa, plus a fabulous winter woolly scarf showing Santa along with a reindeer bedecked with twinkling fairy lights through his antlers, and a frosty snowman to complete their Manchester Christmas Markets ensemble!

The specially produced range of clothing is complemented by a fabulous brightly coloured tote bag with the same matching design – perfect for carrying those all-important Christmas purchases home after a long day at the markets.

Manchester’s Christmas Markets will open at ten different locations across the city today, Friday 6 November and close on Tuesday 22 December, except at Albert Square and Cathedral Gardens which will remain open throughout the festive season until Sunday 3 January 2027.

Christmas in Manchester will also see the Skate Manchester Ice Rink in Cathedral Gardens which opens for Christmas skaters from Friday 6 November until Sunday 3 January, and the Giant Ferris Wheel in Albert Square which will open and close on the same dates.

Families with young children will also want to put a date in their diary for the not-to-be missed magical Manchester Christmas Parade which this year will take place on Sunday 6 December.
