About Us

Your Community, Your Voice

At Post Newspapers, we believe local news should be a force for good.
Established in 2020, we provide free, profit-for-purpose publications, available both in print and online, designed to bridge the gap between residents and the organisations that serve them.

Why we exist

Local news often gets lost in the digital noise. We created an engaging printed platform where positive, relevant information can flourish.
Based in Greater Manchester, we are on a mission to deliver a dedicated newspaper to all ten Metropolitan Boroughs, with plans to expand across Cheshire, Merseyside, and Lancashire.

Making a Tangible Impact

We aren’t just a newspaper; we’re a community tool. By providing free print editions, we break down barriers to information and tackle critical issues like:

  • Social Isolation: Connecting neighbours through shared stories.
  • Digital Exclusion: Ensuring those without internet access stay informed.
  • Community Growth: Boosting the visibility of local businesses and services.

What makes us different?

Our content comes entirely from you. From local voluntary organisations, schools and sports clubs to residents sharing their passion for poetry or food, every page is written by the community, for the community.

What People say about Post Newspapers…

Our Profit-For-Purpose Model

Post Newspapers are published by Drawing Board Productions Community Interest Company, a profit for purpose social enterprise. This means our profit is reinvested into our work. We believe in transparency regarding how we stay afloat:

  • Paid Content: Our primary revenue comes from local adverts, advertorials, and campaigns. This allows us to keep the paper free for everyone.
  • Grants: We occasionally succeed in applying for one-off grants for specific community projects; to launch new Post Newspapers and to grow distribution.
  • Public Donations: Every donation goes directly towards our monthly running costs specifically helping us get physical copies into the hands of residents.
