Quack, Quack! The Countdown is On

by Gillian Todd, Secretary, Rotary Club of Turton

More than a quacking time is guaranteed at this year’s Duck Race with community groups raising money to support their work. Schools, Sports Clubs, Organisations and Charities have taken part in the Rotary Club of Turton’s Annual Duck Race, earning 90% of their ticket sales to support their work, with 10% going to the Rotary Club to support charitable causes.

The event, long-established in the community, will take place on Sunday 14 June at 11am and will see 2,000 plastic ducks take to Bradshaw Brook, Bradshaw Cricket Club (BL2 3EU), with the chance to win prizes including a first prize of £1,000.

Children attending on the day will receive a FREE entry ticket for the Children’s Race with the winners receiving their cash prize on the day.

The event has raised more than £15,000 for local groups this year.

The finish line and event hub will be hosted at Bradshaw Cricket Club (BL2 3EU), offering a free family day out with a festival atmosphere, with live music and commentary from BOLTON FM throughout the morning.
