Named after the River Tame, the area of Tameside has a proud heritage with over 300 listed buildings and ancient monuments, as well as historic market towns. Tameside as a borough was created in 1974 and includes Ashton-under-Lyne, Audenshaw, Denton, Droylsden, Dukinfield, Hyde, Longdendale, Mossley and Stalybridge.

Tameside Post is the dedicated, community-focused newspaper for the borough, sharing positive stories and local information from towns across Tameside, and helping to keep the communities of Tameside connected.
